By day, I work at Duke University as communications director for the Department of Medicine, where I use the MedicineNews blog to keep faculty, staff and residents informed about department news, School of Medicine funding opportunities, and the latest awards and honors bestowed on the department faculty.
This year, when we needed an institutional partner to help administer our conference funds, Duke stepped in to offer its services. The Duke Clinical Research Institute and Duke Libraries are also loaning us laptops for use in the 70 discussion sessions at ScienceOnline2012. And the Duke Institute for Brain Sciences has made a contribution to help defray some last-minute costs.
Many thanks to the leadership of the university and to all my colleagues working to communicate the great science, research, teaching and learning happening at our vibrant campus. Much of that is captured on the Duke Social Media page, the Duke on Demand video site and the Duke Events Calendar.
